You can walk straight into the water

The calm and clear waters make Bonaire an ideal diving destination. The island has more than 85 official diving and snorkeling sites. Most of them can be reached directly from the shore, which makes admiring all the beauty underwater very accessible. Because the west coast is fairly sheltered, you don't have much trouble with currents and visibility is over 90 meters in some places. The Washington Lagoon National Park and The Bonaire National Marine Park are a paradise for divers and snorkelers. It even protects the colorful coral reef, sea turtles, tropical fish and other marine life.
